The Donleys: Her First Day of School

We got in late Sunday night and made the mistake of saying, "By the time you wake up in the morning, you will be in kindergarten." The quiet stressed Loren appeared. She kept saying, "I am really nervous mom."

I took her to school before she went to kindergarten. She is in afternoon kindergarten, so that she can be Miss Dana's Helper in pre school for the little kids. At CV, she made friendship bracelets for all the 'big' kids working in the school.

I took her to lunch. A first day special treat I would like to continue throughout school; well, after kindergarten we will have to do breakfast:)

We stopped at Miss Dana's to get Cora and we all decided to go together to Hamblen Elementary School for Loren's First Day of Kindergarten.

Loren's teacher is Ms. Ray. She loves Dr. Seuss. She is excited to be able to go to ''Real" school. I am excited and moved by my little girl entry the world of institutional learning.

SO MANY NAMES

Many of you ask...why so many names? Well, we have too many special people in our lives that we want to honor. So here's how we got to our latest addition:
Cora is Chris' Great Aunt. She is now 94 at still going strong. It is also a derivation of one of the most special women in my life, my role model, and true example: Corla. Finally, and least important, it is Brody Jenner's ex-girlfriend. I saw it in People magazine. She was beautiful, and not a crazy cat lady. Therefore, Cora it was.
Elisabeth is my favorite cousin, my aunt in South Carolina, and a derivation of Chris' Aunt Betty. Anne, well that is everybody. ME, Aunt Annie, Chris' Great Great Grandma, My Aunt Julieanne, My Aunt Christine Anne, Chris' Mom Mariann and the list goes on and on. And Elisabeth Anne is my best friend growing up. All people I want my darling to emulate.

Yes, Loren's name came from special places as well. Loren is Chris' middle name. His mom's maiden name is Lorensen. The Burgess line also has a few Lorens as well. Katherine is Chris' grandma; she lived with them Chris' entire life until April 1996. She was a fabulous, strong woman. Katherine Louise is Chris' sister. Louise is my middle name, my mom's middle name, and my grandma's middle name; although, she goes by Louise. All women of confidence and beauty. Also, Loren needed to follow the LL family tradition: Linda Louise, Leanne Louise and Loren.
