The Fish Saga...

The fish debacle started on Saturday and this is my blog of the daily events:

Satruday: Their names are Bubbles, Susan, Erin and Chicken. My life has just taken a turn for the strange.

Sunday Morning: Very sad day. Our Chicken enter Fishy Heaven after 12 hours with the Donleys.

Sunday after church: Susan is now dead and Chicken has had his head autopsied by Loren. "I am sure the eyes are in there somewhere, Mama." 'No Dear, the other fish ate them.' "Well then, Susan deserved to die. You just don't eat your friend."

Monday Morning: So it is true,"trouble comes in threes." Unfortunately, Erin the Pink Fish died today. Chicken the Yellow Fish, Susan the Orange Fish and now Erin...so sad (how am I at Feigned Grief)

Monday Evening: We have embarked on round two of the Keeping Loren's Pets Alive: Sally the Pink Fish, BillorZach the Zebra Fish, and Chicken2, the Yellow Fish...yes, another Chicken, a clone maybe? We have steered clear of naming them after friends and family this time. Loren says to the PetCo Fish Specialist, "I am glad we are getting more fish. Apparently, we have no idea how to keep them alive."

Tuesday Evening: They are all still alive and seeming happy. A success even if they bite the dust tomorrow.

And a Week Later...the Birthday Ends

Loren's favorite present, next to the camera, arts and crafts activities, books, clothes, etc, was her fish tank. On Wednesday, we went to Pet Co and got the directions for raising a fish right. We got the tank ready and on Saturday, after a few behavior holds, Loren got her fish: Beta name Bubbles, 3 Danios-Erin, Chicken and Susan.

GiGi and King missed the huge family shindig because of some sickness amongst the kids. So, GiGi and King and Auntie Chris came over Saturday after Loren's Soccer Game.

GiGi and Cora bonded:)

Loren got a book of Disney Princess stories that had her as a character. She was very excited about it.

And my favorite picture of the day was Loren, at her last soccer game of the season, playing with her hands in her pocket.

Sunday's Family ShinDig

Sunday, Loren had another birthday party. Grandpa Rodgie's family was in town, so it was a huge fiesta. Callie and Bret, Rodgie's Daughter and Husband, and their 3 kids, Bret's brother, sister and her son, Bret's Mom and Dad, Cousin Erin and Chad, Uncle Ryan, Rodgie's son, and Grandma and Pa, Chris' mom and dad. It was CRAAAZY.

Uncle Ryan and the girls hangin' out, and Baby Seth sleeping on the table.

Morgan and some great dress up.

Cora wants something and is happy about it.

Baby Cody, 6 weeks younger than Cora, loves food.

Loren's flower cake that Grammy made. She makes the best cakes.

Mostly the girls were so happy to see eachother. It was a highlight of Loren's Brithday.

Soccer Birthday

After YaYa spent the night, Loren's actual birthday included a soccer game against the Huckleberries. The day was filled with drama...you know the lack of sleep kind...But the best part was the song when it was over.

During the game, Loren spent a lot of time on her shorts. It was quite interesting.

Spaghetti Factory Birthday

Loren turned 6 and it was a fiesta week. First, on Friday the 16th, we took Loren, Chanelle, Gillian, YaYa(Christian) and Danny out for a MeatBall Themed Birthday Night. Spaghetti Factory for Dinner and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs as a movie afterward. Loren had great fun, and I survived. Loren's Day Care Provided, aka second mom, came with me and we commiserated together. The original plan was Where the Wild Things Are, but it didn't get great reviews with regards to kids Loren's age. So...Rainy Food it was.

AHHH PIIIZZZAAA

It is Monday night football pizza nite. Cora says:'pizza mama' I reply 'Gotta cook it first' To which Cora replies:'No Cook.' Next, I am approached , on my couch, by a one year old with a pizza. Yes, to the counter, onto the counter, get the pizza, off the counter, bring pizza to Mama. Well, half to Mama. The rest is on the floor. She is screaming on the floor now with the other half. Next, here is the video. Twenty minutes later still screaming. To all of this, Loren says, "She says pizza quite well."
